About Fort Payne Career Academy
Fort Payne Career Academy (FPCA) is a public magnet high school serving students in grades 9–12 with a specialized focus on Career and Technical Education (CTE). Designed to provide students and families with an innovative school choice option, FPCA combines a strong academic foundation with career-focused learning that prepares students for college, technical training, military service, or the workforce.
Students earn a Fort Payne City Schools high school diploma while completing a sequence of career pathway courses aligned with their interests and future goals. Core academic classes are integrated with workforce development, and students have access to a wide variety of career pathways—including health science, engineering, welding, education, computer science, business, skilled trades, public safety, and more—offered through FPCA, Fort Payne High School, DeKalb County Technology Center, Northeast Alabama Community College, and virtual learning opportunities. Transportation is provided to off-campus course locations.
Located on Williams Avenue, FPCA offers flexible scheduling options, including virtual coursework, with opportunities for some students to complete graduation requirements a semester early. Students remain eligible to participate in Fort Payne High School extracurricular activities and graduate alongside their classmates as proud Fort Payne City Schools graduates.
Through personalized learning and hands-on career experiences, Fort Payne Career Academy equips students with the knowledge, skills, and certifications needed to thrive in an ever-changing world.
